The College is seeking hourly paid professors to join a dynamic team to teach Continuing Education credited courses within the Bilingual Office Administration - BOAN 11 program in the Fall 2019 semester.

Bilingual Office Administration 420-M20-HR Computer Systems (60 hours) (August 26th to September 23rd, 2019) This course provides office professionals with the knowledge and skills required to manage systems in the Windows office environment. Topics include basic troubleshooting, understanding peripherals, standard office equipment and providing user support. Adherence to company policies and practices is emphasized throughout the course.

420-P11-HR Microsoft Office Skills I (60 hours) (August 29th to September 30th, 2019) Students learn how to use the Microsoft Word application in an integrated approach within the business process. Students will produce a variety of business documents, using accepted business formats and careful proofreading.

410-P12-HR Administration (60 hours) (September 24th to November 27th, 2019) In this course students are introduced to the broad areas of administrative officemanagement, selecting office employees, training office employees, supervising office employees, arranging for domestic and international travel, meeting arrangements (agenda, minutes and action items) maintaining office and commercial records, and budgeting and cost control.

420-P12-HR Microsoft Office Skills II (60 hours) (October 2nd to November 28th, 2019) This course expands students' knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word and introduces Microsoft Excel. Students will learn how to organize and customize Microsoft Outlook and use the advanced scheduling features of the program. Using Microsoft Word, students will create and format complex documents. Students will use Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets, including text, formulas, and charts.

602-L11-HR Français de bureau I (75 hours) (October 3rd to November 11th, 2019) Ce cours permet à l’apprenant d’acquérir des connaissances français langue seconde et vise à rendre l’apprenant capable de communiquer en français, dans un langage de bureau avec une certaine aisance à l’oral et à l’écrit. L’apprenant devra appliquer les notions grammaticales de la communication en français courant.

602-L12-HR Français de bureau II (60 hours) (November 15th to December 23rd, 2019) Un cours qui vise à développer la communication écrite et orale chez l’élève, en mettant l’accent sur les éléments essentiels de la compréhension et de l’expression écrite. L'accent sera mis sur la technique de composition et la production de textes de bureau et des affaires.

412-P11-HR Business Communication I (45 hours) (December 3rd to December 19th, 2019) This course introduces students to the business communication foundation, communication challenges and the writing process and internal communication (reading, writing and verbal).

In a general way, the professor's teaching load shall include: preparation of course outline; preparation of classes, labs and fieldwork; teaching classes, labs and fieldwork; adaptation; support and supervision of students; preparation, invigilation and correction of examinations; revision of corrections at the students’ request; participation in departmental meetings and other activities when required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a combination of industry experience related to the courses being taught. Teaching experience would be considered an asset. Ability to: Create a dynamic, challenging, and motivated learning environment. Adapt to a variety of student needs and provide appropriate academic and career development support. Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter through academic or non-academic experiences. Apply theoretical concepts to current workplace needs and skill requirements. Provide assistance and display leadership in the on-going development of the Continuing Education department at Heritage College. Stay abreast of changes and new program requirements through regular professional development activities. Must be flexible as required by the department workloads. Must be willing to work collaboratively within a Continuing Education team.
